Thibaudeau Avocats RH + SST takes the protection of personal information seriously. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, how we protect it, and what your rights are under Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25.
Me Éric Thibaudeau, founding partner, acts as the person in charge of the protection of personal information for the firm. You may contact him at any time with questions about this policy or to exercise your rights:

This policy covers personal information collected through the thibaudeauavocats.ca website. Information you send us in the course of a mandate is further protected by lawyer-client privilege and by the rules of the Barreau du Québec, which go beyond the obligations described here.
We collect only the information you voluntarily provide through the contact form, namely your name, email address, telephone number and the content of your message.
Our host and our firewall also record standard technical data, including your IP address, in order to keep the site secure and functioning properly. This data is not used to identify you or to build a profile.
The information collected is used to respond to your request, to contact you, to assess whether the firm can represent you, to open a file where applicable, and to meet our legal and professional obligations. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
By sending us your information through the contact form, you consent to our using it for the purposes described above. You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to the person in charge. Withdrawing your consent may prevent us from acting on your request.
This site uses no audience analytics, no advertising pixels and no profiling technology. We do not track your browsing and we do not build any profile about you.
Only two technical cookies are set:
These cookies are necessary for the site to work and are not used to identify you. You can block or delete them through your browser settings, which may affect certain functions.
The site also loads typefaces served by Google Fonts and a security seal served by TrustedSite. These providers receive your IP address when the page loads, and no other information about you.
We disclose your personal information to third parties only in the following cases: to our technical providers, strictly to the extent necessary to operate the site and our email, or where the law requires it.
The site is hosted by GoDaddy and protected by Cloudflare, whose servers may be located outside Quebec, including in the United States. Your information may therefore be stored there or pass through it. We select providers offering recognized security measures and, as required by law, we assess whether the protection afforded is adequate before any personal information is communicated outside Quebec.
Information you send us as part of a request for legal services may be protected by professional secrecy. We nevertheless encourage you not to send sensitive or confidential information through the contact form before a mandate has been formally opened, since transmission over the Internet is never entirely secure.
Information submitted through the contact form that does not lead to the opening of a file is kept for a maximum of 24 months, then securely destroyed. Information connected to a client file is kept for the periods required by law and by the rules of the Barreau du Québec.
We apply reasonable physical, technological and administrative measures to protect your information, including encryption of communications with the site, restricting access to those who need it, and making our staff aware of confidentiality obligations.
Subject to the exceptions provided by law, you have the right:
No decision concerning you is made on this site through automated processing. Every request received is read and handled by a person at the firm.
To exercise any of these rights, write to the person in charge whose details appear above. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
Our site may contain links to sites we do not operate. We have no control over their practices and we encourage you to review their own privacy policy.
We may amend this policy to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The version in force is always the one published on this page, and the update date appears at the top.
For any question about the protection of your personal information, write to Me Éric Thibaudeau at eric@thibaudeauavocats.ca or call 1-877-869-0958.
